» Uploading with CPanel

To upload files to your website using cPanel, log in and open File Manager, then navigate to public_html. Click Upload, select or drag-and-drop your files, and wait for the bar to turn green (100%). For multiple files, it is highly recommended to upload a ZIP archive and use the Extract feature.

Steps for Uploading via cPanel File Manager

  1. Access File Manager: Log into your cPanel and click on File Manager under the "Files" section.
  2. Navigate to Directory: Open the public_html folder on the left-hand sidebar. This is the root directory where your website files should live.
  3. Upload Files: Click the Upload button in the top menu.
  4. Select or Drag: Drag your files or click Select File to upload them from your computer.
  5. Extract (If Needed): If you uploaded a ZIP file, right-click it, select Extract, and confirm to unzip files into the directory.
  6. Verify: Refresh the File Manager to see your files. Ensure your main file is named index.html or index.php for the site to load properly.

Tips for Success

  1. Use ZIP: Compressing many files into a single .zip file before uploading makes the process much faster.
  2. Permissions: If files do not appear or load, check that files are set to 644 and folders to 755.
  3. Overwrite: You can check the "Overwrite existing files" box during upload if you are updating an existing site.
